Elite Dangerous No Blue Lines on Throttle When in Supercruise
Right panel functions, disable Orbit Lines
Vertical ones no, not as far as I am aware. They are there to indicate your travelling speed variation. If you drop to the lowest speed, ie: 30km/s, they will fade right away as your speed is not changing if I remember correctly. So, they are there to represent speed and changes in speed; the only way to bring these values to a constant constant is to drop to zero throttle whilst in SC.
i hope they update so we can remover them
I would like to second this. I think the lines are not really necessary. There is ample information about Speed already on the Ship Readouts.

You can't, the reason they are there is a loading sequence, if you have watched the Dev life streams with Braben you will see that scenes get loaded in when you leave supercruise or FSD! This feature will not change but I do agree that it would be nice to be completely seamless in game
Just read again, how early I am up lol
Horizontal lines represent your being in light speed and FSD is more like bending space and are completely necessary for game feel in what speed you are in

I assume the OP is referring to the "VERTICAL" Lines shown on both the Right and Left hand side, not the Horizontal Lines that depict what I assume to be Space dust flying past.

The OP, if you read it! Says Horizontal lines but maybe he got that confused plus the blue lines are actually horizontal not vertical :P

An easy way to know what Horizontal is, is it depicts the Horizon, a Line from Left to Right. The Supercruise Lines on the Left and Right, are Vertical as they go from Bottom to Top.
This is common Pre-School stuff =P

They are horizontal lines not vertical that pass on the left and right when in supercruise, if you are talking about the little white lines that you see, when in light speed! Which is what supercruise is!
But to clarify, if you are refering to the distance lines then yes they are Vertical and they are also to indicate speed, more than distance but they help in both instants!!
Plus they don't fill the complete vertical axis :P

This explains pretty clearly that I was talking about the Vertical Lines.
I really don't see them having a purpose though, you already have info on Speed and Distance, as well as a suggested Speed to Travel FOR your Destinations.
Personally, these lines just look ugly to say the least, and kind of ruins the Beauty of your surroundings.

Break your cannopy then they will go, at least in the central view point anyway, the are only part of the digital display the game is portraying to make life seem more real when traveling!!
I personally think they are good to have but maybe the will put a feature in to turn them off like the orbital lines.

The lines that show Orbits, yes. Go to functions tab on your right holoterminal. The VERTICAL lines that are on either side of your HUD that move back in proportion to your speed, no I do not believe so. The glowing white lines outside of your cockpit, no. Those are particles being charged by coming in to contact with the warp bubble created by your FSD.
Too many stupid people who don't know the difference between a Horizontal and a Vertical line.
The Game doesn't even need them to show you visuually that you are moving at a incredible rate, the faster you go, the more dense the Space Dust becomes, that gives you the sense of Speed.

Again, those lines are hideous and pointless.
